So, who is Lucy?
My first dog. The one who started it all.
Lucy was a pound puppy - small, brindled, with the biggest pointy ears you've ever seen. Folks often called her an Iowa Dingo. She belonged to our owner Jessica, and when the company rebranded in 2021, it felt fitting to name it after her.
Her best quality was her independence. She'd disappear for hours on walk-abouts in the mountains or on the farm - confident, kind, and loyal. Most impressively, she took those traits calmly into ALL kinds of situations.
Training puppies. Nights on the town. Countless floats, boat rides, hours trotting along with my horse, travels across the country, and so many camping trips. That girl could wear ALL the hats.

Trail dog. Beach dog. Road-trip dog. Mountain-summit dog. Lucy did it all.

Her Independence

At Lucy's Soil we genuinely mimic her independence by making small batches of soil by hand to yield excellent quality. It's not the norm in our society to think smaller is better - but we strive for quality over quantity, every time. We look to make excellent soil to help others grow excellent plants. Whether it's food to feed folks or flowers to brighten one's day.
